Testbed 2 - Questions and Answers March 21

After the introduction to Testbed 2 on March 21, 2025, the following questions were asked.

  • What are the requirements for in-kind contributions?
There are no specific criteria for in-kind contributions. We want to keep the testbed as open to participants as possible. We appreciate your best effort.

  • Do contributions need to align exactly with the existing research topics; e.g. if you have expertise in a particular topic but it is not exactly aligned with the geospatial aspects, can you then also apply?
You are welcome to surprise us. We have a lot of ‘spatial’ in our call, but we are always looking to align with every pattern that is out there in the ICT world.

  • Do the in-kind contributions follow the same procedure as the funded research and adoption topics?
Yes, they do follow the same procedure. Nevertheless, if you want to come in with in-kind contributions later on, we are open to that, but preferably we all start together at the kickoff on April 17.

  • In the application guidelines delivering references are mentioned, is that applicable for both research and adoption topics? And does that mean that we have to provide CV’s of for instance programmers?
Yes, we would like to see who is possibly participating in the testbed and with what expertise. But keep it short and to the point. It is not relevant to provide papers.

  • We have an existing product and we want to add an additional service to implement OGC API records or processes. Do we have to open source that model?
It is not a requirement to open source your models.  The main goal of this testbed is to stimulate adoption for the mentioned topics.

  • We would like to apply for several topics, how do we do this? Do we apply once and separate the topics or do we send in several applications (for each topic separately)?
Ideally you send in one application per topic. This is not a prerequisite for participation in the tender. If you feel comfortable you can also send in one application, covering several topics.

  • For being interoperable it requires tests. Are tests available?
There is a test available for OGC processes.

  • How do we apply for a topic that needs to show interoperability? Do we apply both for the same topic?
No, please apply separately but mention the cohesion between you and the other party in your application.
